Mission
The mission of the Informatics group is to provide web design and development services, as well as development assistance, to support the learning, discovery and engagement initiatives of Purdue University.
Vision
From strategy and planning to implementation and maintenance, Informatics provides a wide range of web design, development and maintenance services to the University. Combining multimedia assets and a rich backend architecture with the requisite programming expertise, Informatics focuses on forward thinking implementations that are innovative, high performance and user-centric. Additionally, Informatics provides development support to distributed IT web groups, assisting them in planning, creating and maintaining their own content as well.
Our primary aim in all our endeavors is to combine technology and design to meet the wide range of needs of our constituents; providing web solutions that aptly communicate and operate for our client's end-users. Aesthetic form and technical function serve as equally critical components in all our solutions.
Our motivation is to provide best-in-class service and products. Combining the talents of our development and user interface teams, we see web development as a two-fold proposition: effective sites must look and perform superbly. They should provide what the user needs, when needed and in a form that is easy to access and use.
Our belief is that appropriately designed web sites and applications can significantly impact the end-user. More often than not, an organization's web presence may be the first and last contact some may have with the University. As such, sites designed by Informatics should be second to none.
