Field Info: Qualified_name

The qualified_name field contains the fully-qualified name which uniquely identifies a person to the directory.

When your personal information is first added to the electronic directory service's database you are assigned a "qualified name". This name uniquely identifies you from everyone else at Purdue University. Qualified names are composed of a person's first name, middle initial, last name, and a digit to ensure uniqueness. Since this identifier is composed of information from official University records you can not directly change it in the directory database. For example Veronica J. Smyth has the qualified name veronica.j.smyth.0. This along with "@purdue.edu" makes her first email addresses:
