Account Deletion Checklist (retiring)
Please review the following checklist prior to requesting an ITaP Exchange
account be deleted for someone retiring from Purdue University:
If an individual is retiring from the university, their departmental
business office may file a "Request for Privileges" with Human
Resource Services. By remaining in the Purdue Electronic Directory, the
retiree may choose to "store" or "forward" mail for
their @purdue.edu email address.
Please see the checklist below:
- Be sure they know their directory password.
Please note: They will need this to read mail, modify
their directory entry at a later date should they change ISP's,
or decide to establish an e-mail account.
- Are they going to continue to read email after retirement? No? Yes?
Where - Mailhub or ISP?
- No e-mail - have them set the "service" field of their directory entry to "reject". (They do not need have a "Request for Privileges" form filed in their behalf.)
- Mailhub - have them set the "service" field of their directory entry to "store"
- ISP - have them set their "service" field of their directory entry to "forward" to their ISP email address
- Request all email address be removed from their ITaP Exchange account.
Send the request to:
To: exchange-admin@purdue.edu
Subject: rm e-addr (alias)
Please note: This will stop all incoming mail to their
Exchange account.
- If they have set their directory entry to "store" or "forward"
email - request they login to their ITaP Exchange account and "forward"
any personal mail they wish to keep to their directory entry.
- Once they have completed any needed access to their Exchange account,
request the deletion of their ITaP Exchange account. Send the request
to:
