Help Speed Up Response Time

Is there anything that I can do to help speed up response time to the campus-wide Exchange server?

Several system changes can be made to help speed up response time:

TCP/IP Configuration - DNS

If your machine is not in the ADMIN_DOMAIN, some additional speed may be found by adding "adpc.purdue.edu" to the DNS search order of your machine.

Outlook software profile checks

Exit "Outlook" - "File" - "Exit and Log Off", then verify the following:

TCP/IP Configuration - LMHOSTS

If your machine is not in the ADMIN_DOMAIN, adding the following information to an LMHOSTS file on your machine may improve the speed of Exchange:

TCP/IP Configuration - WINS

If your machine is in the ADMIN_DOMAIN, but is not configured to use DHCP, adding a WINS server may help speed things up. (If DHCP is used, it will add the WINS server information automatically.)
