How can I release a message from the quarantine so that I can receive it?
In order to release quarantined messages, you need to send the ID of each message you wish to retrieve in a reply message to the quarantine digest message that you received. You may include multiple IDs in a single message.
The message ID is of the form [#XXXXXX-X] where the "XXXXXX-X" are letters and numbers unique to the message you want released. You must reply to the digest message that included the specific message ID in order to release the quarantined message.
Here are a few things that you need to be aware of:
- It can take several minutes before the message is released, depending on how busy the spam scanning service is. Typically, released message are delivered within 10 minutes.
- The date and time of released messages are preserved. Once the message is released to you, please search your INBOX index for the original date and time of the message.
- Messages will remain in quarantine for only 10 days. If the quarantine digest that you are trying to release from is older than 10 days, the message will no longer be available.
- Once a message is removed from the quarantine, it is not recoverable. You will need to contact the sender and request that a new message be sent to you. If the message is trapped again, you should release it as soon as possible.
You can also use the End User Web Interface to release messages. Once you've signed in, you can select the message(s) you wish to release and click on the
Deliver Message button. If you click on the
Deliver & Approve Sender button, it will also add the sender of the message to your list of approved senders.
