Pine 4.x

1. At the Pine MAIN MENU, press (S)etup, then (C)onfig
   
   
2. Change the variable smtp-server, and enter:
   
   smtp.purdue.edu:587/tls
   
   
3. Change the variable inbox-path, and enter the following, substituting alias with your own.
   
   
   {alias.mail.purdue.edu/tls/user=alias}INBOX

   For example, Veronica Smyth has an alias of vsmyth, so her inbox-path would look like

   {vsmyth.mail.purdue.edu/tls/user=vsmyth}INBOX

4. Press (E)xit Setup and answer yes when it asks if you want to commit the changes.
   
   
5. Quit and restart Pine.
