Netscape 7.2 (Windows)

NOTE: The screenshots show a configuration example for Veronica Smyth. You will need to substitute her alias of vsmyth and e-mail address of vsmyth@purdue.edu with your own.

1. Start Netscape Mail & Newsgroups.
2. In the Edit menu, click Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings...
3. Click the Add Account... button

   

    

4. Select Email account and then click Next

   

    

5. Identity Settings. Enter the following, then click Next.
   
   • Your Name: Your own name as you want it to appear to others
   • E-mail Address: Your @purdue.edu address

   

    

6. Server Information. Enter the following, then click Next.
   
   • IMAP Selected
   • Incoming Server: your_alias.mail.purdue.edu

   

    

7. User Name. Enter the following, then click Next.
   
   • User Name: your_alias

   

    

8. Account Name. Enter the following, then click Next.
   • Account Name: Any account name you wish

   

    

9. Verify that your settings look correct, then click Finish.

   

10. In the Edit menu, click Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings. Select Server Settings for your Mailhub account. Enter the following, then click OK.
    • Server Name: your_alias.mail.purdue.edu
    • User Name: your_alias
    • Port: 993
    • Use secure connection (SSL): Checked
    • Use secure authentication: NOT Checked

    

     

11. Select Outgoing Server (SMTP). Enter the following, then click OK.
    • Server Name: smtp.purdue.edu
    • Port: 587
    • Use name and password: Checked
    • User Name: your_alias
    • Use secure connection: TLS

    

     

12. Restart Netscape.
