Why doesn't the Mailhub system just scan for the viruses, so that I don't have to?
Since not all "viruses" are obtained through e-mail and not all e-mail goes through the Mailhub system, the only way to protect a machine is by running virus scanning software on your local desktop. The Mailhub administrators are alerting the user to those cases where it may be especially important to run virus scanning software, using current virus definitions.
