I lost a message in my mailbox. How can I get it back?

Depending on when the message arrived and was then deleted, they may be recoved by filing a File Recovery report. 

Go to the TLT Trouble Reporting page at http://www.purdue.edu/apps/ics/Trouble and click "Request a File Recovery". Fill out the online form. Normal recovery process usually takes about two (2) business days, and is contingent on the file being available.

When filling out the report, please specify:

  • Which mailbox folder is to be restored (i.e. INBOX, etc.)
  • That it is a mailbox restore request

The correct dates associated with the creation and deletion of the item are important.  If they are not provided, then it may take longer to process the request.

NOTE:  If the message arrives and is deleted in the same day, then it is not recoverable.
