Mailhome
If your "service" field is set to "store", you may use an SSH or telnet client to access your mail.
Each mailhome account is configured with a menu driven interface that gives you convenient access to all available services. The menu driven mail program is called Pine. Pine uses the IMAP server on your_alias .mail.purdue.edu, allowing you to easily read, delete, reply to, and send email. (This interface includes an address book feature.)
In addition to handling email, Pine also has an interface for reading USENET news. You will just as easily access USENET news articles as if they were email messages. Most things that you can do with an email message you can do with a news article such as reading it, replying to it, or saving it.
When using mailhome, the "email" field can be set to:
Use an SSH or telnet client and connect to the machine your_alias .mail.purdue.edu.
At the "login:" prompt enter your directory alias and at the "Password:" prompt, enter your directory password.
