ITI Production Services Secure Data Transfer

It is everyone's responsibility to ensure the security and integrity of the University's enterprise data. IT Infrastructure supports this effort by using a secure file transfer method integrated into a production batch job scheduler called UC4:global to transfer data between IT Infrastructure administered servers.

As a service to other departments across the University, Production Services offers the scheduling of this secure data transfer to support departmental applications that reside on any IT Infrastructure administered hosts that currently have the required UC4:global executor installed.

Request a Secure Data Transfer

•  Print the request form and complete the "Originating Department" section of the form - The requestor will provide the specific details for the transfer as well as sign and date the acknowledgement in the "Originating Department" section of the form.

•  Send the request form to your department's data steward - The University appoints data stewards to manage its enterprise data. The data steward assigned to your department must approve the data transfer by signing the "Data Steward" section of the form before Production Services schedules a requested transfer. Click here to find the data steward responsible for your area.

•  The data steward will send the completed form to Production Control - Once the request form is completed, the data steward will send the request to Production Control to be created and scheduled.

•  Allow up to 2 weeks for the request to be completed and put into production - Production Control will receive the completed form and determine that all criteria has been met to put the transfer into production. This process could take up to 2 weeks. The individual submitting the request will be sent a copy of the form signed by the Production Control Analyst once the request is put into production or if the request can not be completed for any reason.
