Infrastructure began a project in 1986 to protect the University’s data under their care. The result of that project was the establishment of the University-wide data security policies and the implementation of a software security product, TOP SECRET, on the Infrastructure mainframe.
This booklet is designed to assist ITaP Infrastructure Mainframe users with the mainframe environment TOP SECRET security and University security policies for administrative data and applications.
USER ACCESS TO ITaP Infrastructure MAINFRAME
Obtaining access
Contact your area’s workstation support group (or person) to have
the University standard TN3270 client software installed on your workstation.
It’s required to connect to the mainframe. If you’re not sure
who your workstation support person is, the list found at this website
may help:

You also need an account –called your ACcessor ID (or ACID)—and initial password. It’s requested by your department’s mainframe coordinator on an ITaP Infrastructure Form 182.
To work with specific administrative systems you also need to submit an access request to the department responsible for that system. Access to specific systems is requested on an ITaP Infrastructure Form 183.
