To request an Internet connection, a PC, or a data projector, users should call A-V Equipment Scheduling at 49-42771.

ITaP Telecommunications can provide access to the Internet in 24 meeting rooms in Stewart Center and 9 the Purdue Memorial Union, via connection to the Purdue Data Network (PDN) "backbone." This link allows access to the World Wide Web and other Internet resources for any Macintosh, Windows-based, or UNIX-based PC. Because the service includes a hardwire (10-Base-T Ethernet) connection to the PDN, users do not need to provide a modem. It is also recommended that users schedule a data projector when scheduling an Internet connection. Several versions of Windows are supported; most Internet applications (eg., Netscape, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Real Player) can be used. It is necessary that users know in advance which applications will be used.

A limited number of PC's loaded with today's most popular programs are available from ITaP Telecommunications for use with this service.

To request an Internet connection, a PC, or a data projector, users should call A-V Equipment Scheduling at 49-42771, at least two working days in advance of the meeting date. This connection is for Internet access only; connections to departmental file servers, for instance, should be arranged with the Purdue Data Network office.
