Broadcast Network & Services

Broadcast Network & Services (BNS) is part of the IT Networks & Services group (ITNS) within ITaP, and provides Video Services and Distribution capabilities to the Purdue Campus, as well as to off-campus clients.

BNS also administers & maintains “The Purdue Channel”; Purdue’s educational access channel on Comcast Cable TV channel-5 in the WLaf/Lafayette area, and channel-13 on Purdue’s Residence Hall BoilerTV cable system

BNS’ Video Fiber Network connects most of Purdue’s major event venues on campus with BNS’ Video Facility in Stewart Center. It is possible to distribute video content received in BNS’ Control Room to Satellite, Internet Video Streaming, Video Recording, Comcast Ch-5, Residence Halls’ BoilerTV ch-13, local TV station WLFI TV-18, and upwards of 270 classrooms, conference rooms, event venues, & offices.
