Embosser Errors

Out of Paper

When the embosser runs out of paper it will continually say "out of paper."  The paper can be refilled during the embossing of a document without losing any data by doing the following:

  1. Press the Off Line button at the lower left portion of the control panel.
  2. Remove 100 or fewer sheets of paper from the box located on top of the sound enclosure.
  3. Release the pick-up rollers, by moving the switch on the left side of the embosser upwards.
  4.
  5. Insert the paper behind the two rubber rollers in the paper feeder.  The paper will just fit between the paper guides on the left and right side of the paper feeder. The bottom of the paper must be on the ledge toward the rear of the sheet feeder. If the bottom edge of the paper is not on the ledge, some or all of the sheets will slide too far into the embosser, causing a paper jam.
  6. Engage the pick-up rollers, by moving the switch on the left side of the sheet feeder downward.
  7. Press the online button located on the upper left portion of the control panel.

Note:  Do not overfill the paper magazine.  Leave a space between the paper bin and the pick-up rollers of about 1/4 inch before closing it.

Paper Jam

The embosser will continually say "Paper Jam" when a paper jam occurs.

The paper jam can be cleared by shutting off the embosser and pulling the affected paper out. The remainder of the document will need to be resent to the embosser.

This can be accomplished by doing the following:

  1. The on/off switch is on the back of the left leg of the embosser.
  2. Press the bottom of the rocker switch to turn the embosser off.
  3. Wait for the speaker to click signifying that the embosser is shut off.
  4. Remove the paper jam.
  5. Press the top portion of the switch and the embosser will say "Everest Ready.
  6. Resend the Braille job.
