Note: Due to the rapid release schedule for Firefox and Chrome, those browsers should be considered to be compatible with Blackboard.

Internet Explorer Users: If you are using Internet Explorer 8 or higher in compatibility mode, the test will fail and report that you are using Internet Explorer 7. You will need to turn off compatibility mode, which should automatically re-run the browser check.

Note: If you are using a toolbar or other program that blocks pop-up windows, you will need to disable the pop-up blocking on those programs as well.

 
Port 80

Fail This check works by trying to download an image through the specified port.  Port 80 is the standard web (http) port.

The version of Java that Blackboard currently supports is 1.7.0_x.  Older versions may work, but if you're experiencing problems with Blackboard, you may try updating your Java Plug-in.

If more than one version is listed, we recommended you remove the older version(s) to eliminate potential security vulnerabilities, Java Uninstall Tool.

 

Check to see if you have the necessary browser plugins to view media in Blackboard
