Common Errors

  1. Size Limit
    • 40 MegaByte (MB) attachment limit - anything larger will be blocked.
    • 20 email addresses in the TO: field. The number of email addresses in the TO: field should be kept to less than 20.
  2. Sending Email
    • Course Email Lists only accept email from valid "purdue.edu" email addresses.
    • Mail coming from: gmail.com or insightbb.com are blocked in an attempt to limit mail spamming.
  3. Wrong Email address
    • Email addresses with '-owner' in the name will go to the list administrators instead of the class.
    • List names are all lowercase.
    • Do not include a BCC: or CC: Email including a bcc: or cc: address will not be sent. Only use the TO: field.
  4. Adding addition people to the list
    • Instructors can add other authorized senders to the list as long as the person being added has a valid career account and is FERPA certified.
