Microsoft Student Campus Agreement (MSCA) – This agreement provides licenses for faculty, staff and student use of selected software products on all University-owned or leased computers.
The head of each administrative unit (school, department, office, center, etc.) is responsible, within his or her unit, for compliance with software-license terms and applicable University policies. In addition, each unit is responsible for keeping track of the number of installations of each Microsoft product acquired through the MSCA. Upon request, these records must be made available for summarizing University utilization of the MSCA.
Software available under the agreement is distributed on DVDs. The software on each DVD may be installed on multiple University-owned or -leased computers. Please see the FAQ for more information.
Departments and other administrative units may acquire copies of the media for any software products covered by the MSCA. Requests for these items should be from the head of the administrative unit (or his or her administrative assistant or designated computer-support person) rather than from individual faculty and staff members. Included in the request should be the following information:
Orders should be mailed to itap-licensing@purdue.edu. DVDs may not be loaned to individuals for use on personally owned computers. Use by faculty, staff and students on computers they own is handled separately.
Microsoft SELECT Plus Agreement – Most Microsoft software products not covered by the Microsoft Student Campus Agreement are available through the Microsoft SELECT Plus Agreement for University-owned or -leased computers at discounted prices. Under this agreement, users purchase one perpetual license per machine. One copy of the software-distribution media (usually a DVD) can be acquired from ITaP Licensing upon providing proof of purchase, or from Software House International (SHI) at the time the license is purchased.
Pricing information is available on Purdue Purchasing's SHI web page. For a quote, please contact SHI. If you wish to include software assurance in your quote, be sure to note that as well. Once you have your quote, your support staff or business office staff will be able to submit your order via Purdue Purchasing's SRM system.
