Directory Services

Purdue Operators offer directory assistance for student, staff, and departments on campus.  Dial “0” from a campus phone or 494.4600 from off-campus.

  • Staff needing to change an individual listing should complete a Form 13 and send to Human Resource Services in FREH.  Operators receive daily updates.
  • Students needing to change an individual listing should contact the Registrar’s office.
  • For Departmental Listing changes, call “0”.

Published Directory

Operator services is responsible for compiling information included in the business listings of the Frontier Directory.   Information is requested in July for the directory which is distributed in January.

          Note:  The Purdue University telephone directory is no longer published.

Long Distance Calls – University Business

Purdue University will not tolerate fraudulent use of long distance.  On campus – University Business long distance calls can be made using an authorization code.   Dial 7 – 1 - area code, number.  Listen for distinctive dial tone, and enter authorization code.

Conference Calls

Callers on campus have the following options for placing a conference call.

  • 3 party conference – all office phones have this option
  • 6 party conference – available on all office phones, but must be assigned a software feature.  Submit a web request to have this feature added to your phone.

Reporting Trouble

To report staff/faculty campus phone problems, call Repair at 49.68100 or fill out an online Trouble Report.

Students living in residence halls should report repair problems to the main desk of their living unit.
