How to have a PIC installed ( Purdue Information Connection)

Your room does not have a PIC and you need the ability to have a phone AND a computer:

  • For a standard PIC, which consists of (2) telephone jacks and (2) data jacks, contact your Business Office and have them submit a request to the Work Control Center, Physical Facilities. A RFS (Request For Service), which is presently approved for $2500 or less, is usually sufficient.

  • For a fixed cost estimate, contact your Business Office and have them submit a RPS (Request for Professional Services), to Facilities Planning, Freehafer Hall. A RPS (Request for Professional Services) will be required for quantities of more than one standard PIC.

You have a PIC but you need some additional phone or data jacks at that location:

  • For additional cables to an existing PIC, contact your Business Office and have them submit an RFS (Request For Service), to the Work Control Center, Physical Facilities. Again for a fixed cost estimate, contact your Business Office and have them submit a RPS (Request for Professional Services), to Facilities Planning, Freehafer Hall.
