Lab Services
ITaP Instructional Labs: In more than 60 labs, TLT provides an extensive software suite and a secure, consistent work environment. Instructors can have software installed on the lab computer network for course use, and can reserve instructional labs for teaching.
Assistive Technology Center: The Assistive Technology Center provides instruction and support in the use of adaptive computer technology for students with disabilities.
Digital Learning Collaboratory (DLC): The DLC is located in the Hicks Undergraduate Library (HIKS B853). This large, multimedia development facility provides students the opportunity to utilize workstations for accessing electronic resources, scanning documents, capturing images, 3-D development & rendering, web development, as well as editing and compressing digital video and audio. In addition, the DLC features a wireless instructional area, equipment loans (laptops, digital cameras, digital camcorders, tripods, and external firewire hard drives) and collaboration rooms.
Printing is available from all of the ITaP computing labs, on the Purdue network and from off campus.
Distributed Rendering Environment (DRE): The DRE allows students to render complex 3D models and animations on several computers distributed across the campus and is available through a Maya plug-in available in the Windows ITaP labs.

Classroom Services
Technology in the Classroom (TIC) program: The TIC program provides a personal computer along with sound and projection equipment in many classrooms and lecture halls across campus. Connections are also available for you to hook up your laptop for sound and projection.
BoilerCast, powered by iTunes U, uses digital audio delivery technology to deliver classroom audio recordings. Students can listen to BoilerCast lectures by downloading, streaming, or podcasting.
eInstruction or "Clickers in the Classroom" can be used to add interactivity to even the largest lecture hall. Attendance, quizzes, learning games can all be done using the hand held response pad.

Departmental Computing Labs ITaP can provide computer equipment and support for a designated computer lab or Technology in the Classroom site for an annual per computer fee. |

Online Instructional Systems
Blackboard Vista is an online course environment that can be used for distance education courses or to supply an online component for a traditional on-campus course. Vista's secure course site can be accessed with a Web browser 24/7 and enables instructors to update online materials anywhere, any time. Blackboard Scholar is a social bookmarking service that instructors can add to their Blackboard course.
Software Remote provides free access to a wide variety of programs from any computer with a Web browser. Many of the same software applications found in the ITaP labs are available with just an internet connection and your career account.
Turnitin: Plagiarism Prevention. Turnitin identifies papers containing unoriginal material. Submitted papers are compared against the internet as well as academic and professional content not available on the public internet, including millions of commercial pages from books, newspapers and journals.
Course Email Lists can be requested each semester for any course and are pre-populated with students registered for the course.
Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional is a web communication system that provides web conferencing, online meetings and multimedia presentations.

Instructional Support Services
Faculty Consultation: Instructional design and digital media development consultation is available to all faculty and instructors. Our staff have a wide range of experience and education and are available for consultation on topics such as multimedia design, portable devices, instructional design, web tools, American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance, and course management systems.
Faculty and Staff Training: TLT offers a variety of instruction in multimedia technologies for faculty and staff. Courses are available in multiple formats, from informational seminars to hands-on multimedia workshops that offer you the opportunity to actively explore multimedia software. courses and hands-on workshops include topics in WebCT Vista, web design, graphics and imaging, and digital video.
Student Training: The Digital Learning Collaboratory offers peer-to-peer undergraduate student training. These free workshops are taught by students, for students, and cover such topics as digital video, photo editing, and advanced web development.
Digital Content Development Grants are available annually to Purdue faculty and are designed to encourage the innovative use of instructional technology resources within the university. The goal of the grant program is to select and help implement projects that increase instructional effectiveness through the use of digital and online technology.
Purdue Mobile Learning Initiative
Laptops and tablets with a standard image and on-campus support are available for Purdue faculty, staff, and students.

Centrally Licensed Client Software
Purdue University has obtained campus-wide licensing for the following software. Software can be downloaded onto your personal computer and you will be asked either for your @purdue.edu email address or career account id. Please note that you are not permitted to provide software or password information to anyone who is not affiliated with Purdue. Such action is a violation of our licensing agreements.
Dyknow software uses a wired or wireless internet connection to send information between desktops, laptops, Tablet PCs, or interactive whiteboards. It offers electronic note delivery, interactive tools, content playback, classroom monitoring and anywhere, any time access.
GoBinder allows any document to be turned into electronic note paper. Web pages, PDF's, Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, class handouts, can all be organized digitally, so you can highlight and annotate.
Respondus is a tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Purdue's course management system, Blackboard Vista. Exams and assessments are created offline using a Windows interface. Respondus supports up to nine questions types, including calculated and algorithmic formats and can import questions from existing text or MS Word files. Many authoring features are included that allow easy formatting and the inclusion of graphics, audio and video.
StudyMate is an authoring tool that allows you to create ten Flash-based activities and games using three simple templates. The Flash activities can be used with any web server or published directly to WebCT's Vista. StudyMate will import items from MS Word files, Respondus, IMS QTI and other formats as well as publisher test banks.

Teaching and Learning Events. Annual conferences, Brown Bag luncheons, Live and Online Technology Showcases, workshops and presentations are offered throughout the year for students, faculty and others with an interest in teaching and learning technologies.

Student Digital Cinema Contest. The Digital Learning Collaboratory sponsors the annual Digital Cinema Contest. This exciting event allows Purdue students to develop and produce a video or animation, and provides a great opportunity to showcase their talents.
