Windows Streaming Media Server

1. Access your account
Map a network drive as follows:

\\streamer.ics.purdue.edu\asfroot\username

where "ics\username" is your career account login id.
2. Drop in your media files
Drop your content into the "username" folder, where "username" is your career account login id, located on the server.
3. Link to your content on the streaming server
Use the following URL, substituting your username and filename.

http://streamer.ics.purdue.edu/username/filename.ext

or

mms://streamer.ics.purdue.edu/username/filename.ext

Example:


http://streamer.ics.purdue.edu/jdoe/myfile.wmv

Note: If you are providing the link from within a WebCT Vista course, make sure you use "http" only. The Microsoft Media Services protocol ("mms://") is not supported in WebCT Vista.
