Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional is a web communication system that provides web conferencing, online meetings and multimedia presentations.

Blackboard is an online course environment that can be used for distance education courses or to supply an online component for a traditional on-campus course. Blackboard's secure course site can be accessed with a Web browser 24/7 and enables instructors to update online materials anywhere, any time.

Blackboard Scholar is a social bookmarking tool that instructors can add to their Blackboard course.

BoilerCast, powered by iTunes U, uses digital audio delivery technology to deliver classroom audio recordings. Students can listen to BoilerCast lectures by downloading, streaming, or podcasting.

Course Email Lists can be requested each semester for any course and are pre-populated with students registered for the course.

Distributed Rendering Environment (DRE): The DRE allows students to render complex 3D models and animations on several computers distributed across the campus and is available through a Maya plug-in available in the Windows ITaP labs.

eInstruction or "Clickers in the Classroom" can be used to add interactivity to even the largest lecture hall. Attendance, quizzes, learning games can all be done using the hand held response pad.

OpenMind is a Mind Mapping tool that allows you to brainstorm, organize and present ideas.

Purdue career account: Your account login and password can be used to access most ITaP services, and provides you with 500 MB of storage. You are also provided with a @purdue.edu e-mail account.

Software Remote (formerly DACS) provides free access to a wide variety of programs from any computer with a Web browser. Many of the same software applications found in the ITaP labs are available with just an internet connection and your career account.

Respondus is a tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Purdue's course management system, Blackboard. Exams and assessments are created offline using a Windows interface. Respondus supports up to nine questions types, including calculated and algorithmic formats and can import questions from existing text or MS Word files. Many authoring features are included that allow easy formatting and the inclusion of graphics, audio and video.

SafeAssign is a plagiarism identification and prevention service provided by Blackboard. Submitted student papers are compared against several academic and professional databases and the internet to determine and identify instances of plagiarism. SafeAssign also helps students identify how to properly attribute sources rather than paraphrase.

Screencorder captures and records all your desktop activity in minutes, ideal for creating distance learning training and support videos or powerful demonstrations.

Streaming Media Servers TLT supports two streaming servers: Windows Streaming Server and Helix Streaming S erver

StudyMate is an authoring tool that allows you to create ten Flash-based activities and games using three simple templates. The Flash activities can be used with any web server or published directly to Blackboard. StudyMate will import items from MS Word files, Respondus, IMS QTI and other formats as well as publisher test banks.

Turnitin: Plagiarism Prevention Turnitin identifies papers containing unoriginal material. Submitted papers are compared against the internet as well as academic and professional content not available on the public internet, including millions of commercial pages from books, newspapers and journals.
