Blackboard & MyPurdue: Individual Help Session to Submit Final Grades Electronically
Intended Audience:
Faculty, staff, and graduate students
Prerequisite Skills:
You must be a Banner-designated instructor for your Blackboard class in order to send grades from your Blackboard class to Banner.
Course Description:
If you'd like assistance when you're ready to send grades to the Registrar, just come by during the help session to receive individual assistance from one of the consultants in the Instructional Development Center on pushing your grades from Blackboard. A specialist in Banner will also be available, if you wish to enter your final grades directly in Banner.

Be sure to bring your grades with you, or have them be accessible online!

Blackboard & MyPurdue: Submitting Final Grades Electronically

Course Description:
This 30-minute online session will demonstrate how to send students' final grades from the Blackboard grade book to Banner. Information about how to enter grades into Banner will also be provided.

You will 'attend' online from your home or office through your computer's web browser. All you need is a networked computer and speakers or headset to hear the session audio.

Please plan to log in to the virtual meeting room 10 minutes before the session begins to ensure you do not miss any of the beginning content.

The meeting URL will be sent to you via email after you register.

Blackboard Online Workshop: Mastering the Grade Book
Intended Audience:
Faculty, staff and graduate students
Prerequisite Skills:
Networked computer and web browser
Course Description:
You will "attend" this workshop from your home or office computer, via Adobe Acrobat Connect. You will need a networked computer with a browser (with Flash 7, 8, or 9 installed), and a headset or speakers to attend.

This live and online workshop will teach you everything you need to know to maintain your grades in Blackboard securely and privately, including distribution of grades to your students. After this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Explain the views available in the Grade Book.
  • Manage enrollment and access to your class.
  • Create and modify columns for storing or calculating data.
  • Enter or override grades and view audit history.
  • Make grades available to students.
  • Import and export grades.
  • Explain Instructional Data Processing (IDP) grading options.
  • Submit Blackboard grades directly to the registrar

Please arrange to log in to the Connect Meeting Room 10 minutes before the session begins to check that your video and audio will work smoothly.

Course Description:
This hands-on, 90-minute class will teach you all of the basics to create and prepare your class with the most commonly-used tools in Blackboard Vista. In this workshop, you will:
  • Access your Blackboard class.
  • Troubleshoot common browser problems.
  • Customize your Blackboard user profile.
  • Navigate the Blackboard interface.
  • Describe the roles in Blackboard.
  • Add tools to the Course Menu.
  • Edit headers and footers.
  • Add and edit a syllabus in Blackboard.
  • Create links to Web Resources.
  • Upload files using the File Manager.
  • Create and organize content in Folders and Learning Modules.

Signals walk-in help session
Intended Audience:
Faculty, staff and graduate teaching assistants
Prerequisite Skills:
Access to the Blackboard section as Section Instructor or Teaching Assistant roles.
Course Description:
If you'd like assistance with running an intervention in Signals, just come by during the help session to receive individual assistance from one of the consultants in the Instructional Development Center. You may also receive assistance with setting up the gradebook in Blackboard to start using Signals. Be sure to bring your grades and grading criteria with you, or have them be accessible online!

Signals: Stoplights for student success
Intended Audience:
Faculty, staff and graduate teaching assistants
Prerequisite Skills:
none
Course Description:
Signals detects early warning signs and provides intervention to students who may not be performing to the best of their abilities before they reach a critical point. Signals helps you identify and communicate with at-risk students based on their performance in Blackboard.

The online demonstration will cover background information about early intervention research and share results from the pilot study. The demo will also cover the process involved in running interventions and adding stoplights to the Blackboard course homepage.
