When using Internet Explorer or Chrome, Windows should pass through credentials (those used to log in to your workstation) to both of these browsers so you should not be prompted for credentials. If, however, you are not prompted for credentials and receive an Access Denied message, please follow each step below, in the order listed, then attempt to log in to the site again using boilerad\username if prompted at any time. You MUST use Internet Explorer for this step, even if your preferred browser is Chrome.

Remove Trusted sites

• Close ALL browser windows (IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc.)
• Open Internet Explorer
• Click the “Tools” menu
• Click "Internet Options"
• Click the “Security” tab
• Click the “Trusted Sites” zone
• Click “Sites”
• REMOVE any sites beginning with sp2013.itap.purdue.edu, sharepoint.purdue.edu, etc. (the URL of the site in which you work) from the list of Trusted sites.
• Click “Close”
• Click OK.
• Close Internet Explorer

Remove saved Windows Credentials

• Open Control Panel > Credential Manager OR Press Search > Type in Credential Manager > Select from List
• Click “Windows Credentials”
• Find and click on the Windows Credentials entry for “sp2013.itap.purdue.edu” or other SharePoint site URL you might have saved. If there are no entries listed then you can proceed to the "Add Trusted sites..." section below.
• User name to remove should contain "onepurdue\alias"
• Click "Remove" to delete then click "Yes" to confirm

Add Trusted sites and reconfigure IE or Chrome to no longer prompt for credentials

• Open Internet Explorer
• Click the “Tools” menu
• Click "Internet Options"
• Click the “Security” tab
• Click the “Trusted Sites” zone
• Click “Sites”
• ADD “*.purdue.edu” to the list of Trusted sites
• Click “Close”
• While still on the Trusted sites zone, click the “Custom level...” button
• From the list of settings, scroll to the end to "User Authentication" then "Logon" and select the radio button beside "Automatic logon with current user name and password".
• Click "Yes" to confirm you would like to change settings for the zone.
• Repeat the above steps for the "Local intranet" web zone.
• Click “OK”

SharePoint servers still reside in the OnePurdue domain and when using Firefox, the browser attempts to reconcile domain information on your behalf, therefore, you must log in with your BoilerAD credentials. As of January 25, 2020, you must now enter boilerad\username when prompted.

When prompted for credentials in Firefox, please log in with username@boilerad.purdue.edu as your User Name.

When using Safari on a Mac, which is not domain specific, you will need to log in with your BoilerAD credentials by entering username@boilerad.purdue.edu when prompted.

When using Chrome on a Mac, which is not domain specific, you will need to log in with your BoilerAD credentials by entering username@boilerad.purdue.edu when prompted. If you are not prompted for credentials, please remove any saved passwords and try again (Settings > Autofill > Passwords > Saved Passwords).

If you have not yet migrated to a BoilerAD workstation or you perform work on a workstation outside of the BoilerAD domain, beginning January 25, 2020, you must now always log in to SharePoint sites using boilerad\username when prompted for username and password.
