While Purdue continues to migrate its computer systems to the new BoilerAD domain, SharePoint users have been instructed to use Firefox when accessing SharePoint sites. As of January 25, 2020 users that have been migrated to BoilerAD workstations may now resume using their preferred browsers as their SharePoint accounts have also been migrated to BoilerAD and users must log in with "boilerad\username". Below are some troubleshooting tips that may assist with potential log in issues you may encounter. Simply click a selection below for more information.
Please note: Only sites that begin with sharepoint.purdue..., sp2013..., spa2013..., sp.itap..., spa.itap..., ag.itap..., extension.itap..., intra.krannert..., share.tech..., dp.itap..., sharepoint.ecn..., sp.pnw... are affected.
This does not include SharePoint Online sites that begin with https://purdue0.sharepoint.com/..., for example. To log in to these sites, you should log in with your Purdue account: alias@purdue.edu.
I'm a PC/Internet Explorer or Chrome User
When using Internet Explorer or Chrome, Windows should pass through credentials (those used to log in to your workstation) to both of these browsers so you should not be prompted for credentials. If, however, you are not prompted for credentials and receive an Access Denied message, please follow each step below, in the order listed, then attempt to log in to the site again using boilerad\username if prompted at any time. You MUST use Internet Explorer for this step, even if your preferred browser is Chrome.
Remove Trusted sites
Remove saved Windows Credentials
Add Trusted sites and reconfigure IE or Chrome to no longer prompt for credentials
SharePoint servers still reside in the OnePurdue domain and when using Firefox, the browser attempts to reconcile domain information on your behalf, therefore, you must log in with your BoilerAD credentials. As of January 25, 2020, you must now enter boilerad\username when prompted.
When prompted for credentials in Firefox, please log in with username@boilerad.purdue.edu as your User Name.
When using Safari on a Mac, which is not domain specific, you will need to log in with your BoilerAD credentials by entering username@boilerad.purdue.edu when prompted.
When using Chrome on a Mac, which is not domain specific, you will need to log in with your BoilerAD credentials by entering username@boilerad.purdue.edu when prompted. If you are not prompted for credentials, please remove any saved passwords and try again (Settings > Autofill > Passwords > Saved Passwords).
If you have not yet migrated to a BoilerAD workstation or you perform work on a workstation outside of the BoilerAD domain, beginning January 25, 2020, you must now always log in to SharePoint sites using boilerad\username when prompted for username and password.
If the above steps fail, please contact your site owner to verify your permissions.
If you're unable to identify or contact your site owner, please email sharepoint@purdue.edu for further assistance.
