Intern enjoys relaxed environment, variety of projects at Chamber of Commerce

What is your favorite thing about this internship?
My favorite thing about this internship would probably be the environment here at the Commerce. Everyone welcomed me right from the get-go. I was introduced to everyone, and we all were able to create a good relationship from the start. It is kind of like a family environment more than a work environment, which is different from any other internship or job I have ever had. I can talk to them about work or my personal life, which makes for a really good experience here.

What do you do here at the Chamber of Commerce?
I am a marketing intern, so I do mostly the graphics side of marketing and also the communications side of things.

How do you see this internship helping you professionally?
From this internship, I have gained a lot more experience with the real world, more so than in school where you learn the basics of graphic design and everything that comes with it. But, in school, you aren’t given real world tasks. With this job, I have seen deadlines that affect everyone in the office and not just myself. Doing good work on time will make the project run well and get it out in time.

Would you recommend this internship to another student?
Yes, definitely. Actually, when I applied to get into this program with Pathmaker, I didn’t think I would get it. It was kind of just a long shot and given this opportunity has been insane. I cannot believe how much I have gained from this experience.

What is your dream job?
My dream job would have to be working for a nonprofit. Mostly working with people and trying to create a good community is my dream job.
